Elena Kaludova was born in Burgas in 1982. She graduated from the National Academy of Arts in Sofia, major Painting In 2010. She studied one semester at the Academy of Fine Arts - Macerata, Italy as part of the exchange program for students Erasmus – Socrates in 2009. Since 2011 she has been studying in Weißensee Kunsthochschule in Berlin. She has participated in many exhibitions and projects in Germany, Austria, Italy and Bulgaria. In 2011 she won ESSL Art Award CEE 2011. She often combines painting with other means of expression in her work - video, performance and installation.

Lives and works in Berlin, Germany.

“Usually something small and insignificant draws my attention - a reflection, colour, detail, sound, taste, smell, movement or change. The direct association of this kind of experience puts the beginning of the work  that could remain an idea or a sketch, or to take me to the next creation. It is a continuous process of trial and error, triggered by everyday experience."
